Description

In 1955 Molinier, who had already sent Breton photographs of his canvases and a few poems, began a correspondence with him. He collaborated on the making of four of the five issues of Surréalisme, même and participated in the E.R.O.S exhibition in 1959.
The Breton-Molinier collaboration was greeted rather reservedly by the Surrealists, who were "traumatized" by the "completely sexual side" of Molinier's painting. The artist, on the other hand, considered that he had "encountered with the Surrealists total comprehension of what was in him."
