Eugenio Granell had been in Santo-Domingo for a year when André Breton, made a stop at Ciudad Trujillo, after travelling to Martinique and Guadeloupe. A few days after his arrival on the island, on May 28th 1941, the daily La Nación published the interview Granell had conducted with Breton during his visit.
