Fac-similé d'un extrait du Manessischen Handschrift, manuscrit Manesse, paru dans la collection Insel-Bücherei chez Insel.
Texte illustré de nombreuses planches en couleur hors texte extrait du codex Manesse, manuscrit de chansons d'amour courtois du XIVe siècle. Ce numéro, publié après la seconde guerre mondiale, avec le numéro 450 sont les deux seuls volumes de cette collection consacrés à ce manusrit médiéval allemand. Emboîtage recouvert d'un papier à bandes vertes et rouges à motifs floraux et oiseaux (exemplaire dont il n'existe pas de reproduction photographique).
Les textes rédigés par 140 Minnesänger ont été compilés, illustrés et augmentés à la demande de la famille Manesse entre 1310 et 1340. Le codex est aussi appelé manuscrit de Paris, en raison de son parcours historique et Grand Manuscrit de poésie lyrique de Heidelberg, du nom de son lieu de conservation.
